This Privacy Policy describes how Receipt Hunter LLC, a California limited liability company (dba "Receipt Hunter", "Receipt-Hunter", "Receipt_Hunter", "RH", "www.receipt-hunter.com") ("Receipt Hunter," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information through our website https://receipt-hunter.com, our mobile applications, and any related services, communications, or interactions (collectively, the "Services"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Services, you consent to the practices described here. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.
We collect information in three primary ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information we obtain from third parties, and (c) information we automatically collect when you use the Services. You may provide account and profile information, transaction and receipt information, communications, and survey or waitlist information. We may obtain information from financial data sources and integrations (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, Plaid), service providers, and other users in your workspace. We automatically collect device and usage information, location (e.g., from IP), and use cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 3.
We use your information to operate, improve, and secure the Services. This includes: Providing the Services (process receipts and transactions, classify and extract information, maintain your account and user preferences, sync with accounting software, provide receipt reminders and follow-ups); Customer Support (respond to inquiries, troubleshoot issues, debug errors, deliver operational notices); Product Improvement (analyze feature usage, improve AI models, evaluate performance and accuracy, conduct internal research and testing); Personalization (customize dashboard content, tailor prompts and reminders, display relevant insights); Fraud & Security (detect fraud, authenticate users, prevent abuse, monitor threats, maintain audit trails); Marketing & Communications in compliance with opt-out rights (product updates, feature announcements, surveys and invites, informational messages); Legal & Compliance (meet regulatory obligations, enforce our Terms of Service, respond to legal requests); and With Your Consent for any purpose you explicitly authorize.
We and our service providers use cookies, tracking pixels, tags, and similar technologies for: authentication, session management, feature functionality, analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Amplitude), A/B testing, marketing attribution, and security logging. You can manage cookie preferences at the browser level. Blocking some cookies may reduce functionality.
We use analytics and tracking technologies to understand how users interact with the Services and to improve performance and usability. We use third-party analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Amplitude). We may use tracking pixels, retargeting tools, and conversion APIs for campaign measurement; we do not show ads on our website. We do not guarantee that we will respond to Do Not Track browser signals.
We retain your information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
Receipt Hunter does not sell personal information including receipt data, transaction data, or financial information to third parties. We may share or disclose information only as described: with service providers who help us operate the Services (under contractual protections); with financial data sources only when you connect an integration; with other users in your workspace per role settings; to comply with laws, subpoenas, or to enforce our Terms; in connection with a merger or sale of assets; with your consent; and as required for 10DLC/SMS compliance. Receipt Hunter uses industry-standard security measures: administrative safeguards (role-based access, logging, training), technical safeguards (encryption at rest and in transit, secure credential storage, secure APIs, vulnerability scanning, optional MFA), and organizational safeguards (vendor due diligence, incident response, SOC 2 in progress). No system is 100% secure; contact support@receipt-hunter.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
We retain your information only as long as required for providing the Services, maintaining your account, legal and regulatory obligations, resolving disputes, and auditing and security. Account data is kept while your account is active; receipt and transaction data until deleted or account closed. You may request deletion at any time unless we are required by law to retain records.
Receipt Hunter is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, the child's account will be terminated and the data will be deleted as quickly as reasonably possible.
